Madrassah Centre of Excellence (MCE) in collaboration with the Africa Federation Tabligh Board (AFTab) organized the Teacher Development Program: Neuro-Psychology of Learning.
The World Federation sponsored Muharram activities in Mauritius Island for the local residents. The majalis were held at Imam Jaffer Sadiq Islamic Centre located in Quatre Bornes.
Hujjatul Islam Sayid Sarkar Abidi was invited from Bangalore to recite majalis for the first 10 days of Muharram.
The President of the Imam Jaffer Sadiq Islamic centre, Mr. Desire Jacques Herbert l’Olive, stated:
“We were desperately looking for funds to be able to invite a speaker, and during the last moment we got in touch with The World Federation, and thanks to them, they helped us achieve our goal, otherwise, we were afraid to cancel our Muharram programme.”
For the first time, the audience at the centre had the opportunity to learn about the incident of Karbala in details, right from the departure of Imam Husayn (as) from Madinah to his martyrdom on the day of Ashura.
The daily majalis were followed by recitation of eulogies, latmiyyah and niyaz.
On the day of Ashura, the locals also had an opportunity to participate with the Khoja Jamaat in the great procession that takes place every year in Port-Louis. Sayid Abidi also spoke at the procession.
The President of Imam Jaffer Sadiq Centre commented:
“The program was an overall success. We are very happy that through the help and assistance from The World Federation External Tableegh, the centre was able to conduct the activities of Muharram this year and we look forward to your continued support in the coming years as well for this great commemoration.”
