The pilgrimage of Hajj that millions of Muslims embarked upon not so long ago almost certainly spiritually enhanced the lives of many. However, the spiritual benefits and purposes are not the only part of Hajj. There is also a massive historical significance throughout all areas of Hajj, especially with regards to the places visited. |
The World Federation of KSIMC is proud to present “Hajj with Shaykh Usama al-Attar – A Historical Narrative”, a 9-episode series based around this subject matter. In each episode Shaykh visits the places that are frequented during the Hajj, and discusses the historical background of each one.
Sunnat or Innovation?
The books of Islamic laws and traditions of both Shias and Ahle Sunnat mention innumerable recommended prayers. Some of the prayers exceed a thousand units. The prayer of Tarawih is among the recommended prayers of the Ahle Sunnat and it is performed in congregation in the nights of Ramazan at an estimated twenty units daily.
The World Federation sponsored Muharram activities in Mauritius Island for the local residents. The majalis were held at Imam Jaffer Sadiq Islamic Centre located in Quatre Bornes. For the first time, the audience at the centre had the opportunity to learn about the incident of Karbala. Read more here.
