Dr Asgharali Moledina is the President of The World Federation. Born and raised in Mombasa Kenya, he completed his MBBS in India and settled back in Africa after completing his education. Working with the community from a young age, Dr. Moledina has continued to work within the community wherever he has been.  He served as the VP of the Africa Federation for one term and has been involved with The World Federation since its inception in 1976, serving as a councillor for many years. 

 

Interviewer, Sakina Datoo, had to opportunity to sit with Dr. Moledina and ask about the role of The World Federation and the vision for the 2011 – 2014 term.  Dr. Moledina expressed how one of the goals was to bring the worldwide communities together.  He spent a lot of time visiting Jamaats in far off regions, from Vancouver to New Zealand. 

Dr. Moledina talked about how The World Federation and Regional Federations have worked together over the last 3 years.  He expressed how happy he was to say that the organisations have worked together extremely well.  He touched on the various changes that The World Federation has gone through since its inception, as the need and time has arisen, and talked about women and their involvement in The World Federation as well as the Regional Federations.
