In the Name of Allah (swt), the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful,

Salamun alaykum Brothers and Sisters,

As we enter the month of Muharram, I would like to express my sincerest condolences to the Imam of our time on the great tragedy that took place in Karbala - the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (as).

Imam Hussain (as) made the highest of sacrifices for the Muslim community, by giving his life for the sake of justice and fairness.

"Death is better than pursuing disgrace

Imam Hussain (as)

(Biharul Anwar, Vol. 44 , P. 192)

During the month, it's important for us all to remember those who are being oppressed, like the Rohingya Muslims who are being brutally persecuted.

Through
your donations to WF-Aid, emergency aid is being delivered to those who are fleeing the violence in Myanmar.

Imam Hussain (as) embodied the qualities of the Prophet Muhammad (saw) in his character and he remained deeply committed to the Qur'anic value of equality. This includes everyone having access to the most basic of needs, like food and water.

As we come together in the next ten days and nights, we will remember the sacrifices of Imam Hussain (as), including his son, six-month old Ali Asghar (as). During the battle of Karbala, young Ali  Asghar (as), along with everyone else in the camp, was deprived access to water.

We still live in a world where a child needlessly dies every two minutes because they don’t have access to clean, safe water. Through the
Ali Asghar Water Appeal, you can build water wells in impoverished areas across Pakistan and Kenya, and obtain blessings, mercy and forgiveness.

You can
donate a well in your name or in that of a loved one, and gain ongoing rewards (Sadaqah Jaariyah) from Allah (swt).

In this month of Muharram, remember the thirst of the children of Karbala and please donate generously.

With Salaam and Duas,

Al-Haj Anwarali Dharamsi
