Week of Yemen
The World Federation part sponsors the work of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on British Muslims, and attended a recent meeting on Yemen.
The discussions, co-chaired by Baroness Hodgson & Keith Vaz MP, revolved around UK foreign policy in Yemen, humanitarian workers in Yemen, the disproportionate impact of the crisis on women and children, & women's role in peace-building. We also attended the "Measuring Impact and Progressive Change" workshop held by the Muslim Charities Forum, where they discussed a bottom-up approach to be led by the UN to achieve a progressive change in Yemen. The North American Shia Ithna'ashari Community Organization also known as NASIMCO is delighted to be amongst the few umbrella organizations who have understood the importance of the community's core - the women.
