On 2 July 2013, The World Federation attended ‘Bombay Bazar’ – a networking event organized by Elevate1. The World Federation had an opportunity to talk about and raise funds for the annual Ramadhan Relief Fund.
The event was attended by about 300 women as well as the Mayor of the London Borough of Harrow and Lauren Booth, who talked about her journey to Islam.
The event raised £502.73 for the Ramadhan Relief Fund - which means 67 people will have food to eat for 30 days during the Holy Month of Ramadhan. Many other attendees are also planning on donating online through The World Federation’s website.
The Elevate1 group was set up in November 2011 by a small group of friends who wanted to develop their own networking group with other like-minded Muslim working women.
Members support and encourage each other through collaboration and the sharing of business contacts and opportunities.
