The World Federation India Office Organises a Camp for Girls

The World Federation of KSIMC India Office organised the 4th Residential Summer Youth Course for Girls at Khoja Sanatorium in Khandala. Conducted on 29th May to 31st May 2015, this 2 days and 2 nights residential course was for young girls between the ages of 9 and 14.

Thirty students participated from Mumbai, Pune, Bhavnagar and Surat. They were divided into six groups, each headed by a mentor. The team of mentors included an Islamic scholar, a doctor, diet & nutrition experts and a fitness expert.

Topics covered during the course included:

1. Women's ahkaam

2. The spiritual and physical benefits of fasting

3. Etiquettes in Islam

4. Music and its effects

5. Importance of taqleed

6. Linguistic miracles of the Holy Quran

7. Good food habits

8. Career guidance

9. Women's safety

10. Friendship

In addition to this, all the students were assessed individually on their wudhu and salaah by their respective mentors to ensure that they were conducting these essential practices correctly.  All the students also got a chance to recite adhaan and takibaat after prayers to improve their confidence and recitation skills.

As the course coincided with the blessed day of 15th Sha'ban, a short Jashn to celebrate the Wiladat of the Imam of our Time (atfs) was held in which manqabat and munajat were recited by both mentors and students.

Other extra-curricular activities added to the program included yoga, exercise, a treasure hunt with Islamic clues, table tennis, news reporting, Islamic cartoon movie time and team-building activities.

To keep the students aware and on their toes throughout, the teams were awarded for Hijab, Punctuality, Presentation Skills, Unity  and other aspects of akhlaq that are necessary for them to have.

The course was greatly enjoyed by the girls and very much appreciated by their parents.  Some of the encouraging feedback received are recounted below:

" We are very thankful to you and your group for making the WF Girls' Course successful. Your efforts are highly appreciated. InshaAllah we will be looking forward to more such Educational & Religious Courses. " - Shabbir Gheewala

" It's been just an hour that my daughter has been home and she has not stopped discussing the activities that she did at the WF Girls' Course, she is so happy. I am glad that she was a part of such a wonderful program. She has gathered lots of knowledge that is awesome. I thank once again each and everyone who made this camp possible. Looking forward to more such outings, JazakAllah. " - Mrs Menon.

" I am thankful to WF and its entire team for taking this initiative for our little girls. As my daughter attended previously too, I felt there was a huge difference this time in terms of more activities and lots of useful lectures. The Whatsapp group created to keep parents updated of the camp at regular intervals was a great relief for mothers who knew that the girls are doing fine. For such limited fees you all have provided good facilities with Islamic knowledge. You guys have done a terrific job for our little girls and they have enjoyed so much that they wait for the next Khandala trip. Thank you so much! " - K. Varteji
