An Icon for Humanity – Ayatullah Sistani

Born in the Holy City of Mashhad, Sayyid Sistani grew up in a family renowned for its religiosity and devotion to the religion of Islam. In 1948, Sayyid Sistani travelled to Qum and began studying in the seminary of the late Grand Ayatullah Buruujardi. He benefited greatly and learnt a vast amount of knowledge adopting many of the views he laid down.

Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania head office organized an interfaith Iftar program on Sunday, 29th day of the holy month of Ramadhan 1435 AH (27th July, 2014) at Delhi Darbar Restaurant, in Upanga area, Dar es Salaam. His Eminence, the Mufti of Tanzania, Alhaj Sheikh Shabani Issa Simba blessed the occasion with his presence as the Guest of Honor at this program.

Health Talk and Sehri Program

On Friday, July 25th, 2014, the Seniors Sub-Committee of HIC organized a Health Talk and Sehri Program for all the seniors after the regular program. The program included the presentation of "Stroke 101" by Dr. Aunali Khaku followed by general health related questions and answers by Dr. Amirali Bhalwany and Dr. Sohail Ali. After the program Sehri was served. The program was well attended by the seniors.

As we celebrate on this day of Eid, we first and foremost offer our thanks to our merciful Creator who has guided us and given us the strength to serve him during this Holy Month. May the Almighty accept what little we have been able to offer Him, and give us the strength and tawfiq to carry on striving to attain closeness to Him.
