Education Sponsorship Performance Seminar August 2014

On Saturday the 9th of August 2014, Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya organized an Annual Student Performance Seminar for the students being sponsored under the Zainabiya Child Sponsorship Scheme of The World Federation of KSIMC and various other donors at Bilal hall in Mombasa.

Students being sponsored in Primary, Secondary Schools, Tertiary Institutions and Universities attended this seminar.

After the registration, the students went through individual assessment on various religious aspects by BMMK staff members and teachers of the Az-Zahra Madrasah.

The seminar commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and introduction by Br Ahmedali.

First Paper on Islamic Morals & Etiquettes (Akhlaq) was presented by Sis Ruiya Salim and Ust Ramadhan Mlala. This was followed by discourse on observing Hijab and good behavior/manners.

Second Paper on educational issues presenting on the Causes of Indiscipline in Schools and ways of abstaining from indiscipline cases by Br. Ahmedali.

Third Paper on Commitment & Dedication was presented by Ustadh Yahya Mwangi and Sheikh Rijal. The students were encouraged to remain steadfast to their religion and work hard to ensure that they consistently obtained good grades for a better future.

Mentors Presentation, a few role models being beneficiaries of the Mission’s sponsorship schemes shared their experiences advising students of the benefits of the assistance and inspiring students to sincerely and industriously work to attain success in whatever courses/studies undertaken. The presenters were:

  1. Br. Muhammad Machi who just graduated in medicine, Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery in Russia.
  2. Sis Shariffa Swaleh who is pursuing accountancy, Certified Public Account (CPA) completed Part 1 Section 2 and vying to pursue further.
  3. Br. Hassan Ngalaa pursuing Bachelor of Science in Applied Statistics with Computing completing the final year.

Rajab Tsuma, now 23 years old joined class one at Jaffery Primary School sixteen years ago.  As his family was not able to send Rajab to school, he was sponsored by ZCSS in 1997.  In 2005 Rajab completed class 8 with a score of 314 in the KCPE examination. 



Many people care about education, however there are few who truly care about educating others.


Through the support of many generous and gracious donors around the world ZCSS (Zainabiyya Child Sponsorship Scheme) has been able to assist with the education of thousands of children in Kenya, Tanzania, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Haiti.
