ZCSS Muharram Appeal: Allowing women to achieve their dreams

Around the world, almost 61 million children are deprived access to basic education.  In 2008, an estimate stated that 60% of these children are girls.  And within developing nations, the completion rate of primary school between the two genders is greater than 10%.  Almost 100 million girls worldwide who start primary school don’t finish and the numbers rise for secondary education where it is not possible for more than 200 million children.  The gender gap between boys and girls rises even more within the enrollment and completion of secondary school.

Education is just as important for girls as it is for boys.  Education empowers girls and young women by increasing their chances of getting jobs, staying healthy and participating fully in society.  Education also boosts their children’s chances of leading healthy lives as well.

Through the support of ZCSS, young women in India are completing their education and moving on to furthering their education or beginning their careers allowing them to support themselves and their families.

Recently seven ladies have successfully completed their 3 year degree courses:

ZCSS (Zainabiya Child Sponsorship Scheme) is an initiative of The World Federation started by Marhum Mulla Asghar and has been running for over 30 years. The World Federation of KSMIC’s education objective is to empower communities with the ability to become self-sufficient. The most efficient method of reducing illiteracy is through education. This sponsorship scheme supports young students in less advantaged Shia populated areas of the world in order for them to complete their education, ranging from Primary through to higher education.

Sponsoring a child through The World Federation’s Zainabiya Child Sponsorship Scheme (ZCSS) undoubtedly begins a domino effect that carries over ten fold.  When you help to educate a child, you are helping to educate a nation.  Let’s give access to education to everyone, because everyone deserves a chance to learn.

ZCSS has made a difference in the lives of thousands ~ but this would not be possible without the support of sponsors like you.

ZCSS works in Kenya, Tanzania, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Haiti. The scheme started with a humble few students and over the years has supported over 25,000 students, many of whom who have succeeded in changing their lives, the lives of their families and their communities.
