First Meeting of the Executive Council Awards

The World Federation held a highly popular and incredibly well-received Award Ceremony during the First Executive Council meeting of the Interim Term 2020-2021.

We received over 230 nominations for the categories listed below. Mashallah, each nomination was a merit in its own right.

The independent Award panel consisting of Dr Akber Mithani (Chair from Canada), Muhsin Bhai Dharamsi (India), Dr Sayyeda Dhalla Africa (AFED), Doureine Hiridjee Europe (CoEJ), Mohammad Abbas Virjee Australia (FAC), Muhsin Dharamsi India (India Federation), Yaser Ali Devjiani Pakistan (Pakistan Federation) all agreed collectively on the shortlisted runners up and winners.

The World Federation would like to congratulate each of the runners up and winners for each award category. 

 

 

Award for Outstanding Jamaat – Dealing with COVID-19 (Burial & Medical)


The winners were MKSI Leicester for the small jamaat, and Khoja Pirhai Jamaat (KPSIAJ) for the large jamaat. 

Runners up for small jamaat were KSI Milton Keynes Jamaat and Nairobi SAAJ Jamaat.

Runners up for Large jamaat KSIMC of London - Hujjat and KSIMC of Birmingham.

 

Award for Outstanding Jamaat – Digital Delivery 


The winners were New York Jamaat (SIJNY) for the small jamaat, and ISIJ of Toronto for the large jamaat.

The runners up for small jamaat were Nairobi SAAJ Jamaat and MKSI Leicester jamaat.

The runners up for large jamaat were KSIMC of Birmingham and KSIMC of London – Hujjat.

  

Award for Outstanding Madrasah - Online Delivery 


The winners were Al Mahdi Madrasah - Wessex Jamaat for the small jamaat, and Al Haadi Madrasah - ISIJ Toronto for the large jamaat.

The runners up for small jamaat were Dubai Jamaat and Imam Hasan Centre – Sydney, Australia.

The runners up for large jamaat KSIJ of Dar-es-Salaam and Hyderi Jamaat – South London.

 

Award for Community Hero

The winners were  Shahidali Khaki, from London, and  Fatema Damji, from Birmingham with a special mention to Fatim Bandali.

The runners up for the male categories were Hasnain Allidina (Mombasa Jamaat) and Dr. Nurul Abbas Noorani (Sarkhej KSI Jamaat – Ahmedabad).

The runners up for the female categories were Sadaf Athar Hussain (ISIJ Toronto) and Tahera S. Jaffer (Orlando Community).
