LIVING THE QURAN THROUGH THE LIVING QURAN

Project Commencement 

The “Living the Quran Through the Living Quran” is a new project to translate Tafseer-e Noor by Shaykh Mohsin Qara’ati into English, in both video (YouTube), audio (Spotify, Apple iTunes Podcast, Google Podcast, etc.) and other media platforms; creating a massive database of over 6,000 Quranic themes and concepts and their applicability in our daily lives. The World Federation has partnered with Shaykh Saleem Bhimji and has agreed to assist him with this project.

According to a recent report in the Wall Street Journal 1, there are over 400 hours of video content being uploaded to YouTube EVERY MINUTE, and with more than ONE BILLION hours of YouTube videos being watched daily, we must realize that more and more people are turning away from TV programming and going online for everything – including religious guidance and inspiration. 

With so much information – and misinformation - available, we need to counter the negative influences and offer alternatives which will open the minds of ourselves, our families and the greater society on a whole, to sound Islamic knowledge - through the same tools which we all engage with on a daily basis.  

The Quran which has been revealed for the guidance of all of humanity contains an ocean of untapped knowledge. There are hundreds of commentaries available in Arabic, Farsi, and Urdu (with only one complete commentary of the Holy Quran available in English), and regrettably, this is a Divinely revealed book which our English speaking community globally has not yet fully appreciated as Allah (swt), the All-Wise excepts from us. 

Drawing from their proven track record in delivering Islamic content via print media over the past 20 years, the Islamic Publishing House (www.IPH.ca) is now focusing their energies in the sphere of developing original audio and video content creation for sharing on various online media platforms. Their first major audio and video project, under the auspices of the QAIM Institute (www.QAIM.ca) will be to adapt the 12 volume, award-winning commentary (Book of the Year Award in 1997 in Iran) of the Noble Quran, Tafseer-e Noor, authored by the contemporary scholar, Shaykh Mohsin Qara’ati. 

This unique commentary features not only the history of revelation and concise explanation, but it goes a step further and poses questions which may come into a reader’s mind and addresses them with convincing arguments. 

Shaykh Qara’ati then concludes each section of his monumental commentary with practical lessons to learn and points to reflect upon.  The funding required to completely sustain this unique project - which will seek to deliver over 6,000 videos/audio tracks until its completion (over several years) is a yearly budget of $55,000.00 CAD ($40,000.00 USD/£32,000.00 GBP/€36,000.00 EUD). 

Spreading the teachings of the Holy Quran in this exceptional format is a duty upon all of us, through which we can pave our own road to paradise and be the conduit through which we are able to bring the life-altering teachings of the Holy Quran to the world - one video at a time.
