We are deeply saddened to hear of the attack which took place on Monday 22nd May 2017 in Manchester. The World Federation strongly condemns the attack and all others of a similar nature. Terrorism is a global atrocity with no place in Islam and we offer our sincerest condolences and prayers to all of those who have been affected. The attack, which took place on Monday evening, has claimed 22 lives and left as many as 59 people injured.
During the event and in the time since we have seen different communities pull together and offer much-needed support to those affected. We have seen a sense of togetherness and solidarity both in Manchester and all over the world. The response of the emergency services and first responders was fantastic and we convey our deepest gratitude to them for all the work they do. We stand in solidarity against all those who seek to divide us and we stand united in grief. The World Federation (in conjunction with The Council of European Jamaats) has donated £5,000 to the Muslim Charities Forum, of which we are a trustee, to help the victims affected by this tragedy and their families.
We, alongside other members of the Muslim Charities Forum, are supporting Human Appeal, an international Muslim-faith based humanitarian aid charity in Greater Manchester to provide support to the victims of Manchester’s terror attack. We hope that our contribution can help some of the many people that have been affected by this tragic event. To donate towards this cause, please click here.
