
TNA Survey Report 2012
In July 2012, with the help of assessors in East Africa, MCE carried out a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) with 100 madrasah teachers – Dar es salaam (50), Mombasa (20), Nairobi (15) and Arusha (15). The TNA survey can be seen here xxxx. Some of the interesting results were as follows:-
- 72% of madrasah teachers were female.
- Just over half of the respondents were aged between 21 and 40.
- 62% of teachers have taught in madrasah for more than 6 years.
- 87% of the teachers do not have experience of teaching children with Special Educational Needs.
- 94% of teachers felt that teacher training should be made compulsory for madrasah teachers.
