Personal Message from Dr Hasnain Walji, Head of KHT
Dear community members,
The Holy Prophet (saw) has said ‘Verily, Rajab is Allah’s month, Sha’aban my month and Ramadan the month of my Ummah’. As we enter the three holy months, I pray we maximise on the beautiful blessings of these three months. The WF Shop has a very wide selection of books, which covers all topics related to Islam. I would highly recommend having a look as there are some great resources available.
We have recently confirmed that the Fifth Executive Council meeting for this term will be in Mombasa on 13-14th May. We are all extremely excited to be going to Mombasa and meeting with community members there. If you are able to, I would encourage you all to attend. We would be delighted to meet you and hear your thoughts on the work of The World Federation. The theme for this meeting is on ‘creating a God conscious community’. There has been a lot of preparation for this underway already as we work towards getting everything ready. This is something I have personally been spending a lot of time on.
I have been incredibly busy in recent weeks with various things. You may have read about our meetings with Ayatullah Ishaq Fayyaz and his sonrecently, which was incredibly fruitful. Since then, I have been working on a couple of new projects, including an Iraq based project with one of our councillors, Ahmed Daya, and also our new Sadaqah App! We will inshAllah keep you updated with the progress on this.
Last week, Hujjat Stanmore held a Zainabiyya day programme for senior citizens and our head of Islamic Education, Shaykh Kumail Rajani, gave a short speech. He gave an update about the work we have been doing with regards to the Madrasah Centre of Excellence as well as the activities of the Islamic Education department and the Khoja Heritage Project. You can read about the event here or watch a video of his speech on YouTube.
Over the last few weeks, the President, Dr Moledina, and Secretary General, Kumail Manji, recently visited some of our community centres in India. They met many different people and sat and interacted with many community members. They also met a 79-year-old man who shared his views on the Khoja heritage project. A detailed report on the places they visited and events they attended is on our website.
Finally, this month marks one year since we evacuated many community members from Yemen following the recent conflict. Our work continues and Alhamdullilah, many families have been resettled. You may have received our latest report on our work here. If not, you can read this on our website.
I pray that this holy month brings you great blessings. Please remember us in your duas.
With Salaams & Duas,
વહાલા જમાતની સમાજ
