Message from our president:
Dear Community Members,
Salaamun Alaykum
Being President of The World Federation for the past three years has been a position I have been honoured to have held. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you for your continued support in the past three years.
Without your donations and encouragement, we wouldn’t have been able to reach the number of people we have and made the impact that we’ve made.
Three years ago, when I made my first speech as WF president, I spoke of my three main objectives. I’m pleased that, with the help of my team, volunteers, staff, and my community, we have been able make an impact in these three key areas.
The first was regarding Islamic Education, ensuring we are building our community’s spirituality. We have been continuously working towards this, especially through our work in digital services, which you can read about in this booklet.
The second was regarding the economic upliftment of our Khoja community, and I’m pleased to see a number of projects and initiatives launched to help eradicate Khoja poverty, with more in the pipeline for 2020 inshallah.
My final key objective was the strengthening of community ties, something I have personally been working towards.
As well as visiting numerous jamaats around the world and meeting with grassroots members, we have created more forums for open dialogue with the community, such as the question time events we hold ahead of our executive council meetings.
In this Annual Review, you will be able to see the impact of your support on our community and the wider global community. I hope you enjoy reading about our projects and some brand new initiatives we have launched in the last twelve months.
Anwarali Dharamsi
President of The World Federation
