Since March 2013, efforts have been underway to arrange for food and aid distribution in Iraq for the Holy month of Ramadhan. However, since the development of the recent disturbing events, The World Federation has increased its humanitarian aid for the month of Ramadhan in Iraq.
One of the most blessed days in the Islamic calendar celebrated by Muslims across the world is the occasion of Eid al-Hajj. In 2013, this celebration took place in October. Each year, in keeping with the tradition of the annual Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah) ritual of Qurbani, The World Federation facilitates the slaughtering of goats and cows (qurbani), where the meat is then distributed among the needy and poor.
This year, 556 goat and 2 cow qurbanis were arranged in Kenya, Sri Lanka and Tanzania for Eid al Hajj by The World Federation on behalf of donors from around the world. The meat was then distributed among deserving families and individuals.
Thanks to the on-going support of our regional partners, The Council of European Jamaats and NASIMCO, a total of 558 qurbanis were ordered through them and through The World Federation worldwide for this year’s Eid Qurbani.

We take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported this annual program where so many families in Kenya, Tanzania and Sri Lanka benefitted from the meat parcels.
