The World Federation of KSIMC’s International Relief and Development team has been busy assisting and delivering aid and development to our dear brothers and sisters in Iraq. In Iraq we are working with the inspirational aid workers and young team to develop and enhance the lives of those affected by war and poverty.
There is a sense of hope and optimism which radiates from the faces of the young helpers, who themselves have faced suffering and misfortunes through the war and deprivation in Iraq. Yet through aid and donation, the lives of our brothers and sisters is being improved and empowered
This is a task which is continual and is severely affected by the conflict in Iraq, where our brothers and sisters are affected through displacement, losing their homes and fleeing for their lives. Many are temporarily housed in camps and are affected by problems in the supply of water, food and energy. These are real problems that are heart breaking to see and require donor support to ensure that lives are saved and assisted, fulfilling our duty to those in need.
The World Federation of KSIMC began its work in Iraq almost six weeks ago straight after the first displacement of people from Northern Iraq. Since then, we have distributed aid to thousands of people. We ensured that they could survive. However as we all know in such circumstances it is our responsibility not only to provide aid, but also the Intellectual capital capable personnel who work from the ground towards a more efficient humanitarian effort.
The World Federation of KSIMC is now launching The Iraq Relief Appeal to raise a target of $200,000 to assist the Internally Displaced People of Iraq. In addition to this, The World Federation of KSIMC has been working on the ground by sending in competent International Development Professionals who conducted our initial Aid distribution, and a set of Rapid Needs Assessments in the areas where we work.
