Ramadhan Relief 1435: Initial aid reports from Pakistan

July in Pakistan is typically very hot and wet due to the monsoon season. This Ramadhan, hundreds of volunteers across this densely populated nation are hard at work delivering Ramadhan Relief to so many families in need.

Whilst much more aid is in the process of being delivered, initial reports just received show that in a span of 5 remote districts in Sindh, Punjab and Baluchistan provinces, 232 food baskets were delivered to families consisting mainly of widows, orphans, the disabled and those with low income.

As well, victim families affected by terrorist activities where many became disabled or whose breadwinners were killed in bomb blasts or targeted killings were assisted.

During one of the food distributions, our agent wrote to us and said:  “ In Bhakkar, Punjab, families were feeling alone and helpless. However, when we shared in their grief by providing them with Ramadhan Relief food parcels, most of them burst into tears. They have been facing such painful difficulties for over one year now.”

In another distribution site in Quetta, Baluchistan, our agent said:  “We have just delivered food parcels to victim families affected by bomb blasts and targeted shootings. These families are highly thankful to the Almighty for sending them aid through The World Federation and its donors. They are praying for everyone’s prosperity and success.”

Reporting from Sohbatpur, Baluchistan, our agent there told us:  “ Relief was mostly distributed to those families living in shelters made from mud since the 2010 floods. These homes are cracking and are at risk of collapsing.”

PLEASE DONATE:

Food and other aid distribution are underway across parts of Africa, Inda, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Haiti, Gaza, Middle East and Europe. The cost of one food basket is £30 GBP / $45 USD-CAD which will feed an average family of four for one month. Please donate generously to the Ramadhan Relief Fund 1435. As we enter the month of Ramadhan, your contribution will help support hundreds of thousands of families in their time of need.
