The World Federation launches Emergency Appeal for Bosnia Floods
Following the recent situation in Bosnia, The World Federation has launched an emergency appeal to provide aid to those affected by the floods in Bosnia.

Almost one-third of Bosnia has been affected after the worst flooding since modern records began.  It has been confirmed that at least 35 people have died in Servia and Bosnia and about a quarter of Bosnia-Hercegovina’s four million people are without clean water.

It is understood that three months’ worth of rain has fallen in just a few days. Tens of thousands have fled their homes, taking refuge in sports halls and schools.

The situation is critical in Zavidovici, near Maglaj, in Doboj in northern cities of Bosnia along the bank of the Sava River.

Approximately a 1,000 people, including pregnant women, children and the elderly were evacuated from the region of Zeljezno Polje in central Bosnia, where hundreds of homes were destroyed in landslides.

We understand that aid centres have been set up to distribute medicine, food, blankets and clothing.  There is a great demand for basic necessities, such as food, baby food, shovels, diapers, candles, clothing, medicine, bottled water and hygiene items.

We need your help.

The World Federation has launched an emergency appeal to help those affected by the floods in Bosnia.
