Ali Asghar Water Appeal: £4,000 GBP / $6,200 USD still needed

On 19 November 2014 – World Toilet Day, The World Federation appealed to the community for donations to construct 50 toilets in the town of Kallurkot (Punjab Province) - one of Pakistan’s deprived and underprivileged areas. 200 families living here do not have private toilet facilities; moreover, as families struggle with poverty, they cannot afford to construct the lavatories which they so desperately need.

Thanks to the wonderful support of donors who answered this appeal with a donation to the ALI ASGHAR WATER APPEAL, The World Federation has raised £7,450 GBP / $11,950 USD of the £11,450 GBP / $18,150 USD needed to start this project. Access to sanitation services is both a basic human need and a right and your support will ensure that the needs and rights of 200 families in Pakistan are met with dignity and respect.

As we commemorate the final days of the month of Safar leading up to Arbaeen, let us remember the basic human rights that were denied to Imam Husayn (as), his family members and his companions on the plains of Karbala by supporting the ALI ASGHAR WATER APPEAL where £4,000 GBP / $6,200 USD is still needed to start construction of 50 toilets in Pakistan.
